Mürren, Switzerland! I make a point to visit annually for gorgeous hiking and visiting friends. I even learned German to speak with the locals!

College major?

Dietetics major with a minor in economics from JMU.

Party trick?

Wine tasting! I received my level 1 with the Court of Master Sommeliers in Warsaw, Poland. I have a knack for finding bizarre aromas.

Favorite local restaurants?

The Ivy Inn, Tavola, Public Fish & Oyster, Oakhart Social, Dr. Ho’s, Coconut Thai Kitchen, and Basic Necessities (in Nellysford!)..there are too many good ones!

Why do you love Charlottesville?

Cville has it all--the mountains, amazing food and wine, the music scene, and the people! I always tell my friends who grew up here “You’ll be back!”

Favorite part of real estate?

I love getting to know clients and helping them find the perfect home. Their excitement knowing that this is "the one" is so fulfilling.

    Ivy helped my fiancée and I buy our first home, and I cannot recommend her enough! She is everything we needed throughout this experience— knowledgeable, kind, patient, responsive, proactive, and also funny! The first offer we put in on a house (with multiple other offers) was accepted, and Ivy was fantastic as explaining and educating us throughout not only the contract process, but the entire home-buying experience. Everything was so smooth and efficient, and we can thank Ivy for that. We will definitely work with her again in the future and 10/10 recommend to anyone looking/selling.

    Let me say that moving and finding a home for us was very challenging. In attempting to buy a home for a multigenerational family with a senior needing space on the main level provided numerous challenges. On top of a huge list of requests, we were also not living locally but only in Charlottesville on work days which made scheduling even more challenging. Ivy was extremely patient, funny and kind throughout the whole process. Ivy was extremely flexible with my limited schedule and diligent about finding us a home. Ivy is one of the BEST resources when moving to Charlottesville. I learned so much about her and the area and she even took me to one of the best coffee spots. I STILL text her to ask her for recommendations. We also had a blast on some of our outings/adventures.

    Ivy Haines put me at ease the first time I spoke to her (she was in Switzerland). Working with her to sell my house and purchase one in Charlottesville was a painless process. In fact, it was always fun!! She was organized, continuously prepared with the step by step process, and moved me along with constant reminders on the phone, texts and email as to what I needed to do. And ,always, yes always, if I needed her, available to answer my questions, come to my house, meet at the new place, keep me informed. It was a difficult time in my life, and my experience, with IvyHaines at my side, was a lifesaver.

    We found Ivy through an extensive online search of realtors in the Charlottesville area. She proved to be the perfect fit for our family’s purchase of a home in Cville. She is hard working, constantly available, super responsive, and has extensive knowledge of the Albemarle County market - enhanced by the fact she grew up here! She has been helpful after the sale with all of the “little things” that are often needed post-closing. Would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a great real estate advocate in the Charlottesville market.

    We were delighted to work with Ivy. She was recommended to us by our realtor in Florida who was also excellent. We were purchasing in VA while living in Florida so almost the entire process was done remotely. Ivy was great at doing Zoom and FaceTime showings - giving us a feel for the things we couldn't determine via photos and video. She was extremely responsive which was essential in the very tight market we were dealing with. There were no glitches at all during the entire search and purchase. We will definitely use her again for our next purchase here.

This was our first experience in selling a home, and she took the time to walk us through the process, what to expect, and then when we hit some issues not only advised us on the best possible approach but also took the time to reach out to repair people when we needed to remedy some glitches.
