Dog. I'm not a cat hater but my wife will self-combust if she is within 20 feet of one so we stick with the pooches.

50 miles off-shore in the gulf stream or deep in the woods.
Favorite Room in a house?
Hands down; the kitchen. I do believe "The kitchen is the heart of the home". I love to cook and gather around a big island!
