First concert:
Prince, Purple Rain tour at the Greensboro Coliseum. I was in 1st grade, donning my red leather cowboy boots (thanks, Mom, for indulging me!).
What was your first car?
1988 Honda Accord. At age 9, started saving babysitting money to buy it. Totaled it a few months later; have since learned to properly check my blind spot.
Most fun adventure:
Cuba, summer ’99, found myself swept up into an impromptu synchronized swimming routine in a Havana pool. Not exactly Busby Berkeley, but something approaching that.
Healthy obsession:
Realizing design visions on my mid-century modern house—my personal canvas! The most recent project was turning my detached garage into an ADU.
What is your ideal staycation in the Triangle?
Dip in an Eno River swimming hole, picnic at NCMA, dinner at one of our area’s outstanding restaurants, tracking down Durham’s illustrious Poetry Fox with my kids.
What do you do in your spare time?
Home improvement, biking, cooking, hanging with friends and family, hiking the miles of trails my inspired neighbor spent a decade carving through our neighborhood’s woods.
