Holly Springs

Holly Springs has transformed itself into one of the most attractive communities in the Triangle area. The town was originally constructed around the fresh water springs from which it is believed its name is derived. Located just south of Apex, Holly Springs is home to both small businesses and multi-national firms.

Parks, Facilities, and Greenways: Considered a family-centered community, the local parks and recreation department offers a diversity of parks, a recreation center, a cultural arts center, a lake and retreat center, greenways, and picnic shelters. Programming includes art, drama, and music, as well as summer camps and senior programs.

Gateway to Golf: For the golfer, the town of Holly Springs is home to two private courses: Devils Ridge, part of the Sunset Ridge community, and 12 Oaks, part of the 687-acre 12 Oaks community. Both of these neighborhoods, like many others in Holly Springs, also provide access to swimming pools, tennis courts, and walking trails. The world-famous Pinehurst Resort is located an hour south of Holly Springs.

The Mason Jar Tavern

Where your jar is always full! Mason Jar is a brewery and restaurant and they do both very well. They offer five or six of their own brews as well as about 25 other beers on tap. We recommend the shrimp and grits or the hangover burger—very tasty!

Bass Lake Park

Bass Lake Park partners with the North Carolina Community Fishing Lake Program to stock their 54-acre lake with catfish, but fisherman will also find plenty of bass, bream, and crappie. No pole? No problem! Borrow a pole through the free Tackle Loaner Program. Park visitors are also able to rent canoes and johnboats daily Memorial Day through Labor Day and on weekends in the spring and fall.
