  • Tree: We're super fortunate to have gorgeous trees on our property-- our favorites being the Japanese maple that greets us coming up the driveway, and our persimmon tree by our back deck that produces beautiful (and delicious!) red-orange fruit in the Fall.
  • Walk: We love looping around our neighborhood in the Spring, which is small enough create a lovely community feel.
  • Hike: Lake Benson Park is a short drive down the road, with beautiful shaded trails and green space great for playing fetch with the dogs.
  • Breakfast: We frequent Ugly Mug, a local coffee shop in nearby Clayton, and love a nice brunch at STIR in North Hills-- all within 15 minutes of home.
  • Lunch: Michael works from home and loves swinging by for a quick bite at nearby Aversboro Coffee, Chipotle, or Chick-fil-A (now there's two to choose from-- one at our neighborhood Target and one at our neighborhood Coscto).
  • Dinner: For a casual weeknight, we head down to Fuquay-Varina to grab a pizza at Tio's and sit outside at Oaklyn Springs Brewery next door. For weekend date nights, cocktails at Watts & Ward and dinner at Brewery Bhavana in Downtown Raleigh.
  • Pub/Winery: Barcelona Wine Bar is a go-to post-work happy hour-- but let's be real, nothing beats a drink on our back deck at the end of the day.
  • Living Here Has Been: We were freshly married with a new home when COVID came around-- we did our pandemic lockdown at Torchlight Way and wouldn't have had it any other way. We built a new marriage, added a second dog to the family, and navigated a new work-from-home lifestyle. We have loved getting the "best of both worlds" with nearly an acre just 15 minutes from Downtown Raleigh. We'll miss our bright kitchen, picking persimmons to gift friends and family, and our "media room" enabled by fiber internet.
