- View: We love sitting on the back deck in warmer weather and listening to the birds, watching the sunset.
- Room: In the back yard under the big shade tree.
- Tree: Our property is full of trees! They provide privacy and lots of shade in the summer. We have dogwoods, pine, rose of Sharon and 3 beautiful elm trees. The most beautiful tree is a Pink Flowering Almond tree that blooms beautifully in the backyard in April
- Walk: We are big walkers/runners! Grottoes is wonderful for that. The streets are flat, quiet, and very safe. People are very welcoming and warm.
- Hike: I have been biking in Grottoes for 4 years. Its very safe without a lot of traffic. Our house is situated between 2 parks where you can bike, walk and run. One of which has the Grottoes cavern. We are also close to the Shenandoah National Park.
- Lunch: For lunch and dinner, there is Lil Gus' within walking distance. It's casual but has very good food. In the summer they have live music, which is a lot of fun!
- Dinner: Another good spot is the Woodfire grill which has amazing pizza.
- Living Here Has Been: Finding this home was a blessing for me. It was my safe landing spot. As a single mom, I found a house that already had everything I needed and was easy to take care of. I didn't know much about Grottoes but it is a wonderful community. The warm weather months are particularly fun with yard sales, festivals in the parks, fireworks, and parades. Grottoes has that small-town feel but my commute to JMU was a simple 20-minute straight shot down Port Republic. So convenient! My street has always made me feel safe and secure with neighbors who look out for one another. It's very quiet with little to no traffic. I will miss this little house and hope that it finds a family to love it as much as I did.
