In this installment, we chat with Katie Hayden, an agent with Nest Realty in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Fredericksburg?
Katie Hayden: My husband and I are originally from Chilhowie, Virginia, a small quiet town in Southwest Virginia. However, we have not lived there for many years. We have lived in Northern Virginia for the last several years. After having the opportunity to appreciate all Northern Virginia has to offer, we longed for a slower, more simple pace. Our family has recently relocated to Lake Anna, which certainly provides exactly what we were searching for, and I am thrilled to call Nest Realty Fredericksburg home.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
KH: With two very busy school-aged children, I understood the importance of having a career that was going to allow me to have flexibility in my schedule. But I also needed something that would be challenging and allow me to gain fulfillment by serving others.
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
KH: I had a career of 17 years in the beauty and hospitality industry. This career provided me with an opportunity to serve others and gain a true understanding of what amazing customer service should be like. It also allowed me to become an excellent communicator.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
KH: Nest Realty took an approach on all things that seemed so much more current and applicable to today’s real estate industry than any other brokerage that I had exposure to. The support and training that Nest offers is perfect for my style of learning.
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
KH: My favorite part of being an agent is that I am able to serve an unlimited amount of clients with top-notch customer service.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
KH: I have a love and real passion for staging and decor. This fits into all angles of real estate, from being able to offer staging and decor advice for listing clients to working with a buyer and helping them see how they can transform their new home into exactly what they envision.
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
KH: I Love People! I love to help people, serve people, and make people happy. My level of customer service is unlike any other agent’s.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
KH: Outgoing. Considerate. Honest. Gracious. Dependable.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
KH: Reese Witherspoon.
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
KH: Stay within your means. 😉
NR: What is your favorite season in Fredericksburg?
KH: SUMMER, I live at the lake!!!
