2019 Roanoke Mid-Year Market Report

2019 is now more than halfway over and we are excited to release our 2019 Roanoke Mid-Year Market Report. Understanding what’s going on in the market allows us to equip our clients to make confident, informed decisions. It also gives us an idea of what the future holds.

Overall, total sales in the Roanoke area real estate market increased as prices rose and days on market declined.


  • Total sales increased nearly 1% year-over-year across the Roanoke MSA in the first half of the year. Total sales were 2,105, a 0.8% increase from 2,089 in 2018.
  • The median sales price in the first half of 2019 was $189,900, a 5.5% increase over the median sales price of $180,000 in 2018.
  • In the Roanoke MSA, average days on market decreased 4.4% to 114The City of Salem had the lowest average days on market within the Roanoke MSA at 90 days.
