Add Some Pizzazz to Your Ceilings

add some pizzazz to your ceilings

In the latest cover story for NEST Magazine, Look Up, we showed a stunning example of a home that took the ceilings to new heights. If you’re looking to add some design and drama to your home, we’ve rounded up some amazing examples from our favorite designers. Which element could you add to your home?! Let’s explore…

Exposed Beams and Skylights

Exposed beams, whether dramatic or subtle add visual dimension and presence to any room. The effect is magnified when paired with skylights. The beams can be demure, as seen in rooms 2 and 4, or dramatic like rooms 1 and 3. And don’t stop at wood! The steel beams in room 1, painted a dreamy blue color are architecturally integral as well as beautiful.

Painted Ceilings

A painted ceiling is a simple yet utterly effective way to create a mood. It’s an affordable, and fairly quick way of changing the vibe. Take it one step further by painting the walls and trim the same color, as seen in room 2.

Wallpaper and Murals

Wallpaper isn’t just for walls! Adding wallpaper, murals, or a sumptuous texture like Venetian plaster as seen in room 3, is a perfect way to add intrigue to any room. We love the all encompassing feeling that room 1 evokes.
