Five Things You Must Do Before Summer Ends!

Fall is quickly approaching, but there’s still time left to enjoy the long days of summer. Don’t let the season slip away before completing these five Wilmington activities. We’ve got family fun, date nights, and solo time covered…just five more reasons we, “Live Where We Love.”

1 – Romeo & Juliet

Have your own Romeo & Juliet moment (with a happier ending) on one of the Juliet balconies at the Riverboat Landing. Enjoy a romantic dinner for two at this landmark dining destination, an idyllic building resting on the bank of the Cape Fear River in downtown Wilmington.

2 – Jammie Jam PJ Party!

Take your tots to the The Children’s Museum of Wilmington for a jammie jam pajama party. Dressed in your favorite jammies, you and your kids will build forts, make your own toothpaste, read bedtime stories, practice calming bedtime yoga, even enjoy milk and cookies! Free with admission or membership on Friday, August 21st from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Click here for more info.

3 – Fireworks!

Pack up the kids and beach blankets to attend the last of the Live Music & Fireworks by the Sea at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. On Thursday, August 27, 2015, beginning at 6:30 p.m., R & B artist LaCi will perform at the gazebo, followed by fireworks over the ocean at 9:00 p.m.

4 – Beach Yoga on the Crystal Pier

Bring your mat and find your flow. Carve out some solo time and join the Wilmington Yoga Center for an early morning yoga session. Head to the Crystal Pier at the Oceanic Restaurant for a 7:30 a.m. yoga session, Thursday – Sunday mornings through October. $10 drop-in fee, cash only, all levels welcome.

5 – Lumina Daze

Get your date lined up, and you dancing shoes shined! On Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., the Lumina Daze is back! A night full of swing dancing, food, fun, and silent auction at the Blockade Runner Resort in Wrightsville Beach. Admission is $15 and benefits the the Wrightsville Beach Museum of History.
