In this installment, we chat with Jay Schelin, a Realtor with Nest Realty in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to Raleigh?
Jay Schelin: A career promotion in 1997 brought me to the area.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
JS: My wife is an agent, and she encouraged me to get started.
NR: What was your previous career?
JS: I was a branch manager in the underground waterworks wholesale distribution business.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
JS: Nest is all about the PEOPLE.
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
JS: There’s a new challenge every day.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
JS: My father is a retired custom home builder and I have worked on several renovation projects with him.
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
JS: Integrity.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
JS: Honest, direct, compassionate, professional, and responsible.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
JS: Warren Buffett $$$
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
JS: Learn to take deep breaths.
NR: What is your favorite season in Raleigh?
JS: Fall—I just wish it lasted a little longer.
