During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Pat Ramage, a Realtor with Nest Realty in Louisville, Kentucky.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Louisville?
Pat Ramage: I was born and raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. I have lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Greenville, South Carolina; and now for the past 16 years in Louisville, Kentucky. We were transferred to Louisville through my husband’s employer.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
PR: My husband and I have been in the property management business for 10 years now, so getting my real estate license was the next step for me.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
PR: I have a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. I worked in the finance business, banks, and mortgage companies for 15 years. For the past 15 years, I worked in the education field while my daughter was in school.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
PR: I have been a long time friend of Co-Owner Stephanie Wetzstein. When she told me she was going to open her own business, I was very interested. The more we talked, the more I felt Nest Realty was a good place for me.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
PR: I enjoy helping people find the right place.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
PR: My background in business and marketing, along with my ability to think outside the box.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
PR: I see real estate as a serving profession and prefer to work closely with my clients to understand each one’s distinctive needs, to help them find the perfect home.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
PR: Confident, competitive, affectionate, warmhearted, and sincere.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
PR: Mickey and Minnie Mouse—I want to sell them a house in Disney.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
PR: This can be a very exciting but scary time, and I am here to hold your hand through it all. This is the first home you will buy, but probably not your last.

NR: What is your favorite season in Louisville?
PR: Summer.
