Meet the Agent: Amy Fraser

We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Amy Fraser, Managing Broker at Nest Realty Lake Norman.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Lake Norman?
Amy Fraser: Originally from New Hampshire, I transitioned to North Carolina for graduate school and the South hooked me quickly with the climate, miles of beaches, and delicious food.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
AF: Back when I was 18, I took the real estate course with my dad. At the time I was interested, but not focused. More than 10 years later, I took the course again as a personal challenge after relocating back to NC. Much wiser than as a teenager, I quickly realized this field might be a fantastic fit and I haven’t looked back!

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
AF: My background is in higher education as a career counselor and in the private sector as a recruiter in healthcare and manufacturing.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
AF: I’ve always loved Wilmington (it feels like my spirit animal city) and I tend to follow area businesses on Facebook. Ironically Nest Realty Wilmington popped up on my Facebook news feed one day. I started looking through the marketing and loved the vibe. As I further delved into owning a brokerage, it became evident that Nest was where I felt at home. Everyone I’ve connected with through the Nest offices and corporate has been nothing short of amazing!

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
AF: My clients. My hashtag is #ilovewhatidobecauseofawesomeclientslikeyou!

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
AF: As a transplant myself, moving many times within only a few years, I love working with clients moving in and out of the state. I specialize in the Lake Norman towns of Cornelius, Huntersville, Davidson, and Mooresville, but you’ll find me assisting clients into Northern Charlotte and Cabarrus County.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
AF: First, my creativity—I offer redesign and staging services, so I enjoy seeing a home with serious potential and helping my clients see this possibility too, leading to a customized and equity driven property. Second, my local market knowledge—new to the area? Hop in the car with me and I’ll get you up and running. Pretty soon you’ll see all the highlights of why Lake Norman is seriously the best place to live in the greater Charlotte area.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
AF: Driven, creative, transparent, thorough, and passionate.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
AF: Joshua Jackson from the movie Mighty Ducks, and the TV show Dawson’s Creek —I’d be reliving a childhood crush.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
AF: Your first house most likely will not be your forever house. See this home as a safe place to start off as a homeowner, and choose a home in a good location. This will make the eventual transition to your next home much easier. Remember, there is no perfect house, regardless of price point (believe me!).

NR: What is your favorite season in Lake Norman?
AF: Spring is my favorite season at the lake. Mornings are still crisp, leading to sun filled days with a slight breeze.

NR: What makes our market unique?
AF: Lake Norman allows you complete freedom to Live, Work, and Play all in the same place!
