In this installment, we chat with Anne Collins Albimino, an agent in Virginia’s New River Valley.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area? How long have you lived here?
Anne Collins Albimino: As graduates of Virginia Tech, we moved back to Blacksburg in 2001 to raise our one year old twin daughters. We had always loved Blacksburg and wanted to give our girls the opportunity to grow up in a community that offered great schools, tons of green space, and a strong sense of community. It was the best decision we ever made.
NR: How did you get into real estate? How long have you been practicing?
AA: After experiencing the challenge of several corporate moves over the years, I wanted to be a resource to others moving into and out of the area. I love helping people ease the stress of moving and being a resource for them as they settle into or have to leave our area.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
AA: Nest Realty offers the local expertise, professionalism, and commitment to our local community that I’m excited to be a part of.
NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
AA: I love using my many years of experience and local market knowledge to make my clients buying or selling experience not only easy, but stress free. And I love the opportunity to meet new people and hear their stories. The people I have had the pleasure of meeting and continue to meet enrich my life in so many ways.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
AA: Specializing in residential real estate and helping clients navigate logistically and emotionally challenging moves.
NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
AA: Patient, determined, calm, friendly, kind.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
AA: My dream clients are what I describe as “bounce backs.” Anyone who has left the area and wants to come back (and won the lottery while they were gone!).
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
AA: Be patient and work with an agent with expertise in the area and who has your best interests at heart.
NR: What’s your favorite season? Why?
AA: Fall. I have always loved the excitement of a new school year, the sound of football, crisp mountain air, and leaves changing color.
