In this installment, we chat with Becky Brawley, a Nest Realtor in New River Valley, VA.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area? How long have you lived here
Becky Brawley: I grew up in the New River Valley. My family moved from California in 1992.
NR: If you are new to real estate? what was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
BB: I have always had a love for helping people and a love for the community that raised me. I have been a personal trainer for 12 years and I’m a Mom to four amazing kids. Real Estate has provided me the opportunity to have a career where I am helping people while also sharing my love for the place I am proud to call home.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
BB: The culture. Nest is a brokerage that cares about people, the community and each other.
NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
BB: Being part of the process. No two transactions are alike. Each one presents different challenges, excitement, and celebrations. Walking my clients through the process from start to finish is so rewarding.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
BB: First-time buyers are my absolute favorite and having lived most of my life in Southwest Virginia allows me to be a valuable resource for individuals relocating to the area that are unfamiliar with the NRV and surrounding areas. There are so many great communities here locally that each offers something different.
NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
BB: Motivated, Compassionate, Honest, Reliable, Resourceful
NR: Who would be your dream client? (This can be funny—a famous person, or celebrity, or a general type of person.)
BB: My dream client is anyone excited to purchase real estate. I love a good celebration so bring all the good vibes and excitement through the transaction and I’ll bring the champagne to the closing table!
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
BB: Patience. Homeownership is a journey that continues way beyond the closing table. Stay patient, ask questions because being an informed buyer is so valuable and enjoy the process as much as possible. This is an exciting time, celebrate it!
NR: What’s your favorite season? Why?
BB: Summer! Give me all the sunshine, pool days, cookouts, family hikes, kids out of school and warm summer nights relaxing out on the porch. I’m a July baby and summer is absolutely my season!
