In this installment, we chat with Chris Rooker, a Nest Realtor in Harrisonburg, VA.
Nest Realty: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
Chris Rooker: After nearly 20 years of working together, my business partner and I decided that we wanted to own and operate our own brokerage. When the opportunity came along to join Nest, we didn’t think twice. We had been watching the company for many years, and believe strongly that our goals and values are perfectly aligned.
NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
CR: I love being a part of a home buyer or seller’s story. So much of our life unfolds in our homes—our address truly matters!
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
CR: I focus primarily on residential sales in Harrisonburg, and areas close to the city. (I especially enjoy working with anyone connected to JMU. GO DUKES!)
NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
CR: Persistent, positive, purposeful, pondering, energetic. (Tried to make it five P’s but only came up with four.)
NR: Who would be your dream client?
CR: I find that other business owners are often great clients! They have high, but fair, expectations, and tend to speak directly and know what they want.
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
CR: It’s better to regret a home that you DIDN’T buy than one that you DID buy!
NR: What’s your favorite season? Why?
CR: I really love autumn. The weather is lovely, the scenery in the Valley is stunning, and the real estate market slows down enough for me to enjoy it.
