Meet the Agent: Donna Mills

During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Donna Mills, a Broker at Nest Realty Asheville.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Asheville?
Donna Mills: My family has been in Western North Carolina since the 1700’s, so I am a true Local.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
DM: I was Director of Marketing for Asheville Mall, and the owners decided to build high-end condos in Downtown Asheville in the early 2000’s. It was really fun and I discovered my passion and have worked for several large local developers, such as Biltmore Farms, since then.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
DM: I have Worked at WLOS-TV station in Sales, been Director of Marketing for Asheville Mall, Director of Marketing for Deerfield Episcopal Retirement Community, and was lucky enough to be a full-time Mommy for years to three amazing children.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
DM: I have worked at several other brokerages over my many years in real estate. I love the philosophy that Nest promotes of excellent one-on-one service and attention to Clients needs, putting the client first every day all day.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
DM: I love the variety of every day, and I love using my knowledge of our market to help clients make the best real estate choices.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
DM: I am a Certified Luxury Agent, a New Construction Specialist, and generally know a whole lot about a whole lot!

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
DM: I have sold every single house that I have ever listed. I believe that is because I value each and every client that I have and work hard in their best interest.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
DM: Friendly, Hardworking, Caring, Sincere, Outgoing

NR: Who would be your dream client?
DM: I think it might be fun to sell Donna Mills, the actress from Knotts Landing, a house!

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
DM: Please find an experienced Realtor who guides you through the process of buying a home.

NR: What is your favorite season in Asheville?
DM: I love every season here!
