During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Erica Voshell, a Realtor at Nest Realty, the Triangle.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to the Triangle?
Erica Voshell: I was lucky enough to be raised in Southwest Durham! I spent a few years on the NC coast for college at The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, but found myself back in the Triangle after some great years by the water.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
EV: I was looking for a career change and thought I would get into real estate part time to see if it was a fit. My family thought I was crazy, but I ended up jumping in as a full-time agent and haven’t looked back!
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
EV: I started my professional career at a Resource Teacher in the Chapel Hill City School System. My attention to detail and advocacy skills are just a few that have transferred perfectly into real estate!
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
EV: I’ve worked with other firms in my real estate career and Nest is the first I’ve found that truly focuses on clients and creating a great experience for them! They also have an amazing marketing team!
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
EV: Seeing my clients happy and ready to start new adventure at the end of a transaction(oh.. and it gives me the opportunity to see some beautiful homes)!
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
EV: I have experience in multiple areas of real estate, but would say that I specialize in New Construction transactions and with Relocating clients.
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
EV: Since I grew up in the area, I have extensive knowledge of the Triangle that not all agent have. I enjoy helping clients pinpoint the ideal location for their new home!
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
EV: Hard-working, creative, supportive, honest, and cheerful.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
EV: I love working with people moving to the area. I get to share my favorite parts of the Triangle with them! Are you a foodie? Ask me for my list of favorite Triangle restaurants!
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
EV: Ask Questions! There are a lot of steps involved in a real estate transaction and your Realtor will want you to ask questions and understand the process as much as possible! Don’t be embarrassed if you don’t know what’s happening; that’s why you hired an agent!
NR: What is your favorite season in the Triangle?
EV: Fall! There are so many places in the Triangle to relax with a Pumpkin Spice Latte!
