In this installment, we chat with John McClelland, a Broker at Nest Realty Lake Norman.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Lake Norman?
John McClelland: I grew up in Cornelius, and after living in a few other places I knew I needed to come home.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
JM: I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and I knew I wanted to teach/coach early on in my career. Being a Broker lets me help me coach my clients through their biggest investment.
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
JM: Commercial construction. Putting out fires! I handle the pressure of real estate with ease and fix most problems before my clients ever know. My goal is to make purchasing a property as stress free as possible.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
JM: Nest offers the best client experiences I’ve seen. We want to make home buying a pleasure, not a chore.
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
JM: The feeling I get knowing I have served my clients well.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
JM: Investment real estate, military buyers, and distressed properties.
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
JM: Communication. You will never be in the dark when you work with me.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
JM: Calm, fun, knowledgeable, punctual, and hard working.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
JM: Cam Newton, the quarterback for the Carolina Panthers. I love his swagger!
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
JM: Talk to me before you are ready to buy. Things go smooth when we have a plan.
NR: What is your favorite season in Lake Norman?
JM: Summer, lake time!
