In this installment, we chat with Krysandra Rubiano, a Realtor at Nest Realty Roanoke.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! Where are you from? What brought you to Roanoke?
Krysandra Rubiano: My husband, Dr. Rubiano, took a position in Roanoke in 2016. Prior to this, we lived in West Palm Beach, Florida, where I was an elementary school teacher. We have three beautiful children, ages 7, 5, and 2. I am involved in our local church, and I love serving in our community.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
KR: With three small children, I took a break from teaching school and as a stay at home mom, I was looking for something both challenging and rewarding with flexibility to pursue as a career.
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
KR: I got my bachelor’s degree in education and taught in the public school system for several years. I realized at that time that working with people, young or old, is my passion! I enjoy learning new things and helping others find happiness.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
KR: Nest offers great mentoring, training, and a path to success. It has a small boutique feel that focuses on building relationships.
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
KR: As a new agent, I am enjoying every part of learning the business and meeting new people.
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
KR: I am driven, dedicated, and detail oriented. I enjoy helping and educating clients throughout their home purchasing/selling process.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
KR: Friendly, loyal, motivated, organized, and honest.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
KR: My dream client would be a child, because they are full of wonder and have great imaginations.
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
KR: Enjoy the entire journey, from start to finish.
NR: What is your favorite season in Roanoke?
KR: My favorite season here in Roanoke is FALL! The colors are vibrant, the air is crisp, and the smell of pumpkin spiced lattes are in the air. I was raised in Maine, where it sometimes seems like winter never ends, and for the past 15 years I lived in South Florida, where it seems like summer never ends.
