Meet the Agent: Leaona Lucas

We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will, too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents and brokers to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry.

In this installment, we chat with Leaona Lucas a Nest Realtor in New River Valley, VA.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Leaona Lucas: I’ve lived in the New River Valley my whole life. I grew up in Floyd County, then moved to Blacksburg for college.
Now, my family is living in Christiansburg.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
LL: I actually started as an office administrator in a real estate office. Once I began learning about the industry, I decided I wanted to pursue my real estate license. Best decision ever.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
LL: The broker at Nest Realty NRV had reached out several times over the years to discuss a move. While I loved my previous brokerage, I felt that Nest was the big next step in my career. That, combined with their stellar reputation in the community, helped me make the decision.

NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
LL: Having a job where you get to decide the work/life balance ratio. I devote full time to my clients, but I still have time for my family.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
LL: My “niche” is first-time homebuyers, but I also have a knack for giving listings a beautiful representation to the public.

NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
LL: Punctual, Plucky, Empathetic, Culinary, Considerate

NR: Who would be your dream client?
LL: Probably Shea McGee, so I can absorb her sense of style for homes.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
LL: Definitely regarding inspections, don’t let the size of the report intimidate you! It’s always nerve-wrecking to receive a list of things wrong with the house you’re paying thousands of dollars for, but there are hardly things in there that are not fixable!

NR: What’s your favorite season?
LL: Summer. I love the heat!

–A lifelong local, Leaona Lucas has an affinity to make personal connections with all of her clients, so that you’re not just working with a real estate agent, but also a friend.

Spread the love
