Meet the Agent: Lisa Markee

We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will, too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents and brokers to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry.

In this installment, we chat with Lisa Markee, a Nest Realtor in Asheville, North Carolina.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area? How long have you lived here
Lisa Markee: I stumbled across Asheville on a road trip over 10 years ago and never wanted to leave! I loved the mountains, the people, and the energy I couldn’t quite explain. After vacationing here every year, I finally relocated in 2021!

NR: How did you get into real estate? How long have you been practicing?
LM: I studied marketing in college and started a career in sales shortly after. I was always very interested in real estate and obtained my license in 2016. I helped buyers and sellers in Philadelphia until my move to Asheville in 2021.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
LM: Expertise, professionalism, and creativity tend to be more abundant in small local brokerages and I’ve found that home with nest.

NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
LM: No day is the same. I am constantly tested and in the end, I love the challenge.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
LM: Investing. I ran a home flipping company and gained a great deal of experience in identifying potential properties, budgeting, construction management, design, and staging.

NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
LM: Determined, funny, analytical, reliable, honest.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
LM: Anyone with a castle. I’ve yet to sell a castle. Realistically, I love old homes with great detail and character. Clients who appreciate that as well are fun to work with.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
LM: The best time to buy a house is always 5 years ago. Try to forget the idea of a “forever home” and view real estate as a tool to build wealth for you and your family.

NR: What’s your favorite season? Why?
LM: Spring. It’s so hopeful. I love seeing the first flowers bloom and feeling the warm sun after a long winter.

Lisa has built a successful real estate career through top-notch customer service and in-depth market knowledge. She loves helping buyers find the perfect home, guiding clients on how to grow their wealth through real estate, and advising sellers on how to get the most money for their home.

Spread the love
