During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Logan Meck, an agent with Nest Realty in Greenville, South Carolina.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Logan Meck: I moved with my family to Simpsonville back in 2008, and have loved watching the area blossom and grow into what it is today.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
LM: I have been doing various sales for years and love helping people, so I decided to use my talents and help people with one of the biggest processes of their life.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
LM: I’m a Navy vet, and previous territory sales rep in the oil/gas industry. Those two careers taught me that integrity and hard work can make anything possible.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
LM: Their culture and their “put clients first” attitude was the winner for me.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
LM: Knowing that I’m changing people’s lives and getting them into their dream homes.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
LM: Negotiation, communication, and local expertise.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
LM: I’m very different and set myself apart from most agents by being accountable to you. In other words, I don’t just promise to sell your home, I guarantee it.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
LM: Energetic, determined, hard-working, attentive, and personable.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
LM: Elon Musk!!!

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
LM: Know your financial comfort level, not just what you can be approved for. Have more than just the required down payment on hand. There are closing costs to cover, including taxes, legal fees, home inspection, and adjustments, as well as all the little extras you’ll need for your new place. Assemble a team you can trust: real estate agent, lender, lawyer, inspector. Ask friends and family for recommendations or interview candidates to be sure you are a good fit. Often one professional can refer you to a group of trusted advisors. This can really help simplify the process and get you off to a good start

NR: What is your favorite season in Greenville?
LM: Fall—I love festivals.

NR: What is your biggest flaw?
LM: I care too much!
