In this installment, we chat with Mac Ellis, a Nest Realtor in Asheville, NC.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Mac Ellis: I’ve lived in WNC for a total of 18 years. 5 years in Boone, NC and 13 years in Asheville, NC
NR: How did you get into real estate? How long have you been practicing?
ME: I started in real estate as a mortgage loan officer in 2004.
NR: What was your previous career?
ME: Banking & Finance
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
ME: Their strong brand and reputation among peers.
NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
ME: Developing new relationships and the challenge.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
ME: Extensive lending and finance background. Able to help first time homebuyers and long time investors alike.
NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
ME: Advocate. Adventurer, Passionate, Personable, Caring

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
ME: You got this….Let’s Go!
NR: What’s your favorite season? Why?
ME: Fall. I love the leaves changing and the ability to wear four different outfits in one day.
–As a native North Carolinian born in Wilmington NC, Mac Ellis headed to the mountains of Western North Carolina in 1998 to attend Appalachian State University. After graduating, he practiced 4 years as an NC mortgage origination officer in Winston Salem, NC. Winston Salem proved to be too far from the mountains that have always been calling, so he transferred within the Banking industry to Asheville in 2010. In Mac’s free time, he enjoys doing anything outdoors, watching live music with friends, and is always looking for an adventure.
