In this installment, we chat with Malcolm Burke, an agent with Nest Realty in Louisville, Kentucky.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Malcolm Burke: I first came to Louisville in 2019 to pursue an MBA from the University of Louisville.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
MB: People are my passion, and real estate allows me to use my unique skill set to serve those looking to take a big life step. In this profession, often times I get paid in appreciation, and that feeling is priceless.
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
MB: My career history is littered with marketing and sales roles. The most impactful experience that prepared me for real estate was working for my uncle’s nonprofit, “Pastor on Wheels.” Through him I was able to build homes and make substantial repairs that many could not afford on their own. That’s when I got to see first hand how much pride comes from homeownership. I got to witness how much help could make a difference and how thankful people were after closing on a real estate transaction.
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
MB: Nest Realty allows me to have access to the latest technological trends and marketing methods. They provide a strong team of full time agents that support each other and ultimately benefit our clients.
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
MB: My favorite part of being an agent is how I am able to see the best parts of Louisville, my new home.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
MB: Real, personable, charismatic, reliable, and available.
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
MB: Get pre-approved before you begin touring homes.
NR: What is your favorite season in Louisville?
MB: My favorite season in Louisville is the spring!
