Meet the Agent: Tim Armentrout

agent Tim Armentrout

We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry. In this installment, we chat with Tim Armentrout, an agent with Nest Realty in Staunton, Virginia.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to Staunton?
Tim Armentrout: I was relocated to this area by my parents 60 years ago from the Washington, DC, area.

NR: How did you get into real estate?
TA: I was licensed in 1981 after purchasing two homes. I wasn’t comfortable with the process and decided that I needed to be better educated in the world of real estate.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
TA: I have an accounting background and have worked in the construction/development industry. I was able to use my real estate license in conjunction with my job.

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
TA: I have worked in some of the top firms in our area, including ownership in one of them. I formed a team of agents a few years ago. The dynamics of two of the firms prior to Nest Realty were not conducive to what we were looking for in a real estate brokerage. After several meetings with the principals of Nest Realty over an extended period of time, we found that they could provide everything that we needed to become one of the top teams in our area.

NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
TA: Knowing that some of the trials and tribulations encountered during a transaction were worth it, and the excitement of seeing your clients walk away from the closing table smiling!

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
TA: My dedication and commitment to their goals.

NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
TA: What makes me different from most other agents is my age, or the number of years I’ve spent in real estate. What sets me apart is my experience.

NR: What is one of your biggest real estate challenges?
TA: One of the challenges in real estate is the ability to educate and, in some instances, protect your clients.

NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
TA: Thankful, compassionate, thoughtful, successful, and real.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
TA: I have had lots of dream clients during my career, culminating in lasting friendships. A dream client is one who puts total trust in you as as their agent.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
TA: Please be sure that you are thorough in selecting an agent. It is important to have an agent who is qualified, knowledgable, and committed.

NR: What is your favorite season in Staunton?
TA: Summer.
