In this installment, we chat with Jamie Christensen and Evelyn Clifford, agents with Nest Realty in Asheville, North Carolina.
Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Jamie Christensen and Evelyn Clifford: We are both from the Midwest and moved our families to Asheville to pursue adventure and new endeavors. Jamie has three kids and lives in the Fairview area with her husband, Philip, who owns The Rankin Vault cocktail lounge downtown. Evelyn has two teenage boys and lives in Montford with her husband, Steve. We enjoy exploring all of WNC with our pups in tow. We have three between us and consider them to be family members.
NR: How did you get into real estate?
JC and EC: Both of us have had past business experience growing businesses. Combining past knowledge and desiring more personalized relationships, real estate was the perfect fit!
NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
JC and EC: Jamie owned and managed a local gym franchise, Madabolic. Evelyn was a fitness instructor and massage therapist. Both of these previous careers molded our ability to assist with the needs of our clients while managing a successful career. Plus, we still enjoy working out together!
NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
JC and EC: The marketing and client outreach sets Nest apart. Being involved in a local agency that aligns with our values of giving back to the community is important. Nest is expanding on multiple levels and we are excited to be part of it as our team grows.
NR: What is your favorite part of being an agent?
JC and EC: Assisting clients achieve their goals.
NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
JC and EC: We are Certified Second Home Specialists and Negotiation Experts.
NR: What makes you different from other agents? What sets you apart?
JC and EC: We pride ourselves on the personalized approach we bring to every relationship we build and every partnership we create. Basically, we serve people like you—folks who have worked hard for their money and want to spend it thoughtfully with their sights on the future.
NR: What are five adjectives that describe you?
JC and EC: Dynamic, genuine, approachable, trustworthy, and driven.
NR: Who would be your dream client?
JC and EC: Kobe Bryant. R.I.P.
NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
JC and EC: You can change the house, but you can’t change the neighborhood. Consider lifestyle needs and narrow down areas first.
NR: What is your favorite season in Asheville?
JC and EC: We fall in love with Asheville over and over every fall. The colors, smells, and cooler temps leave us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated!
