Northern Virginia Summer Bucket List: Graves Mountain Peach Festival

Welcome to Week 2! In Nest Realty’s Summer Bucket List Series, we’ll highlight five of our favorite summer activities in the Northern Virginia area. After you tackle our bucket list, let us know which adventure was your favorite! Send a photo or leave a comment about your day in the sun. We hope these inspire you to love where you live even more than you already do!

The second item on our list of must-do summer activities in Northern Virginia is an event that you will want to mark on your calendars―visit the Graves Mountain Peach Festival on Saturday, July 22nd in Syria, Virginia! Syria is only an hour drive from Fredericksburg.

Check out the Graves Mountain Lodge from 10 am to 4 pm for their 6th Annual Peach Festival complete with entertainment, food for purchase, and most importantly, peaches! From 10 am to 3 pm, Scuffletown band will perform music that the acoustic trio describes as a “unique blend of roots, jazz, world, bluegrass and original music.” Plus, while the tunes play, you can order a hot dog, pork BBQ sandwich, chicken tenders, or other great Graves Mountain meals.

The festival will even offer kettle corn and funnel cakes so you can get your fill of authentic summer festival food. Don’t forget to snatch up some fresh peaches for sale! Further, if you’re feeling something more filling, try the peach ice cream, peach preserves, or even peach cobbler! Yummy!

Additionally, there will be craft vendors, hayrides, and pony rides, so there will be entertainment for all ages. Plus, if you’re interested in taking a dip in the pool, the Graves Mountain swimming pool will also be open to the public for $5 per person. Have a fun-filled day in the sun!
