Shenandoah Valley Summer Bucket List: Visit Sweet Dreams Festival

Welcome to Week 4! In Nest Realty’s Summer Bucket List Series, we’ll highlight five of our favorite summer activities in the Shenandoah Valley area. After you tackle our bucket list, let us know which adventure was your favorite! Send a photo or leave a comment about your day in the sun. We hope these inspire you to love where you live even more than you already do!

The fourth must-do for this summer is to treat your sweet tooth at the Sweet Dreams Festival. The Sweet Dreams Festival will take place in Stuarts Draft, Virginia this Saturday, July 22nd. Good news, too―it’s free! Local businesses generously donate to keep this non-profit festival running annually. This family-friendly event features fun activities for kids such as contests, a craft tent, rock climbing wall, laser tag, and inflatables. Delicious festival foods, including a homemade pancake breakfast, will be available for all ages. In addition to food and fun, other activities include live musical entertainment, bingo, local artisans, crafters, businesses and community agencies, and even sporting events!

Participation in the sporting events is also free! There is a 5k race that is open to all ages and paces, and the first 100 participants receive a free t-shirt. The sign-up form is on their website, but race-day registration takes place at Schneider Park from 6-7 am before the 7:30 am race. In addition, other sporting events include corn hole tournaments and a co-ed softball tournament!

Head on out and celebrate the Shenandoah Valley community with games, contests, food, and fun for all ages for free!
