We love supporting neighborhood businesses and getting to know the awesome people behind them! This week, we’re sharing six more local treasures from around our Nest Realty locations:
ROAM FREE
Ready to cruise? Check out Roam Bikes, the bike share system for the Blacksburg and Christiansburg, Virginia, area. Simply download the Sobi app, locate the nearest hub, unlock the bike, and ride! These bright orange beauties are rentable by the minute, hour, day…all the way up to a yearly pass for just $60. Day passes start at $10 for 24 hours.
PARISIAN DREAMS
Réunion Bakery & Espresso is a French-inspired dream. Scrumptious pastries including almond croissants, cruffins, and apple galettes fill the pastry cases. The aroma of delicate lattes and bold coffee fill the air. Owner and head baker Bryan Hollar has successfully brought the beauty of Parisian pastries to Staunton, Virginia, in the Shenandoah Valley. Try the hazelnut cruffin stuffed with hazelnut mousseline and capped with a chunk of hazelnut praline…your tastebuds will thank you!
SLOW FASHION
Timeless beauty awaits at Verdalina, a Richmond, Virginia, boutique known for its socially and environmentally sustainable pieces. This women’s clothing boutique carries brands chosen not only for their aesthetic, but also for their departure from fast fashion and disposable clothing. Enjoy the bright and airy ambiance of the boutique as you browse the curated collection of apparel, accessories, and fragrances.
THE GOBBFATHER
A Charlottesville, Virginia, staple, Ivy Provisions is a quaint local deli and boutique food shop. We love stopping by for an early morning Antonio’s PB3 and a spicy chai latte, or in the afternoon for The Gobbfather sandwich paired with one of their on-tap craft beers. Be sure to check out Wine Wednesdays—free tastings every Wednesday from 2–7 p.m.
FREE PLAY
Fort Pure Play is an amazing space for open-ended, free play in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Fort encourages collaborative play to set the groundwork for further development, confidence, and socialization. Utilizing sensory rich materials helps to inspire imagination. We love the real tree trunk that reaches all the way to the ceiling in the indoor playspace, and (of course!) the huge nest in the outdoor playspace.
ROAMING ROOSTERS
Look for the 15-foot tall rooster and you’ve found The Elements 4 Life Home & Outdoor Living! This adorable cottage in Davidson, North Carolina, unites home and garden wares into a harmony of beauty and style. Outside, beautiful birdbaths, fountains, fairy gardens, and yard animals dance among vibrantly colored pottery. Inside, you’ll find lovely pieces for your home including light fixtures, pillows, and accessories.
