Meet the Agent: Karen Turner

We’re proud of the team of agents we’ve assembled here at Nest Realty. We think they’re pretty awesome, and we think you will, too. During our “Meet the Agent” series, we sit down with our agents and brokers to learn more about them, what makes them tick, and why they’re passionate about the real estate industry.

In this installment, we chat with Karen Turner, a Nest Realtor in Jackson, Tennessee.

Nest Realty: Tell us a bit about yourself! What brought you to the area?
Karen Turner: I moved to Blacksburg in 2001 with my favorite Hokie, my husband Carter. We moved from Denver, Colorado, to be closer to our families.

NR: How did you get into real estate? How long have you been practicing?
KT: While I’m new to the agency side, I have been involved in the new construction side of real estate for several years.

NR: What was your previous career? How has that prepared you for real estate?
KT: I spent most of my career in commercial banking, on the other side of real estate transactions. My financial background has prepared me to help all buyers – from first time homebuyers to seasoned investors — feel comfortable with the financial aspect of their purchase. This part is the easy part!

NR: What led you to Nest Realty, as opposed to another brokerage?
KT: While I had the pleasure of working with many real estate professionals in my new construction role, Nest agents stood out. I liked the way they cared for their clients.

NR: What’s your favorite part of being an agent?
KT: Without a doubt, helping to make a potentially stressful experience feel comfortable and effortless for everyone involved is my favorite part of being involved in a real estate transaction.

NR: Do you have a specific area of expertise to offer clients?
KT: Yes. I’m comfortable with all the process of building a new home from start to finish, and know what clients should expect and deserve.

NR: What are five adjectives to describe you?
KT: Dedicated, curious, trustworthy, high-energy, responsive.

NR: Who would be your dream client?
KT: My dream client would be excited about the New River Valley, ready to share their needs, and explore all the possibilities.

NR: If you had one piece of advice for a first-time home buyer, what would it be?
KT: Everything is figure-outable.

NR: What’s your favorite season?
KT: Summer. I love sunshine and long days.

Karen moved to the New River Valley almost 25 years ago with her husband, Carter, a native of Virginia. While she grew up in Atlanta, the Blue Ridge mountains have slowly and persistently stolen her heart.

Spread the love
