Nest Realty Morganton and their Broker-in-Charge, Leanne Brittain, were recently recognized by NC REALTORS® for implementing fair housing training at their firm and showcasing the firm’s commitment to equal professional service for all. To qualify for the Fairhaven Challenge award, 100% participation from all agents was required. These agents include Leanne Brittain, Laney Greene, Matt Crotts, and Alison Azbell.
The Fairhaven Challenge was launched by NAR last year as a fair housing simulation training for Realtors. This challenge utilized the power of storytelling to help members identify, prevent, and address discriminatory practices in real estate.
Throughout the simulation, participants interact with clients and colleagues in different scenarios to confront discrimination—whether based on race, national origin, disability, familial status, sexual orientation, or gender identity. All scenarios in the simulation were inspired by real fair housing cases and by conversations held with NAR members.
Winners of the Fairhaven Challenge were announced at the NCAR Convention in October. NC REALTORS® recognized three firms and their BIC’s across the state, including Nest Realty Morganton.
